The Gens de Barbarin Society

Created on February 21, 1996, the Gens de Barbarin association has 85 members in 2023. Its goal is to promote the site and organize cultural events. By becoming a member you are helping to make Barbarin a living heritage. You are given priority information about events, especially concerts or places are limited. You are welcomed in a privileged manner all year round.

This former 14th century stronghold, stronghold of the lords of Revel, became a pleasure castle in the 18th century following major works commissioned by Laurent-Joseph Emé de Saint-Jullien, 2nd Marquis de Marcieu, governor of Grenoble, Lord of Touvet. Acquired in 1993, the castle was plundered and promised to ruin. Its restoration and maintenance are the responsibility of the SEIGLE-PAILLET family, owner of the estate. The alliance of the owners and the association is a guarantee of success in the rebirth of this area, which is now protected as a Historic Monument.
