A journey into the heart of Dauphiné history and architecture
Visiting Barbarin means travelling, in one hour, through the evolution of a building from the 14th to the 18th century. Built in the Middle Ages you can still see its loopholes and crossbow slits then enlarged in the 18th century to become a residence for entertaining. You will discover the furnished drawing rooms and, above all, the exceptional 100 m² kitchen. Lived in all year round.
The owners welcome you themselves, in a warm atmosphere, and tell you the story of the house.
Groups and visits by appointment
The castle welcomes groups all year round by appointment.
Days and times: July and August, Saturdays and Sundays at 4 pm and 6 pm.
The European Heritage Days
Dates: 3rd weekend of September. Saturday (2 pm to 6 pm) and Sunday (10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm).
Guided tour every hour. Tickets at reception.
Special Heritage Days rate: €6 – free for under-15s.
The enchanted visits, for children
Little Wolf in the land of fairy tales wants to help his friends, the heroes of the tales, find their place back in the book.
During the school holidays, a storytelling visit for accompanied children aged 3 to 8. Come in costume if you like!
Times: Tuesdays at 3:00 pm. Booking required.

Can I come as a group or book a visit by appointment?
Yes, the castle welcomes groups all year round by appointment (up to 50 people). The guided tour lasts 1 hour. The rate is €6.50 (free for under-12s and members of the Gens de Barbarin association). The meeting point is at the entrance to the terrace in front of the castle.
How long does the guided tour of the castle last?
The guided tour lasts about 1 hour, during which the owners show you the whole ground floor, from the reception rooms to the great kitchen.
What are the visit rates?
The full rate for the guided tour is €6.50. Admission is free for children under 12 and for members of the Gens de Barbarin association.
Do I need to book in advance?
Book online and pay on site. In July and August, guided tours take place at 4 pm and 6 pm. The enchanted visit for children aged 3 to 8 takes place on Tuesdays during school holidays. Booking required.
Is the castle accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM)?
Accessibility is very partial: part of the ground floor is accessible, but the standard visit does not include the upper floor.
Are animals allowed during the visit?
